He was in Santa Barbara, California to take part in Steve Clarkson’s annual “Super 7″ Quarterback Retreat. This camp is routinely attended by the country’s top prep and collegiate QBs. Being that TP was rated one of, if not the top, quarterback prospect in the country, it’s no surprise that he got an invite. TP mentioned meeting Snoop Dogg to Coach Tress while at the camp. 27 November 2008, by Just a quick post to wish the readers of TPO a very wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving Day today. We all have a lot to be thankful for. Also, I hope you are able to stuff yourself with as much delicious Turkey as possible. Here are some random things that don’t fit anywhere else, so I’ll just stick them in this post. 1.) 26 November 2008, by Since the Thanksgiving holiday is upon us, Terrelle has headed home to Jeannette to celebrate with his family. While there, he made a stop by the Senior High School to check in on the basketball team. Seems like a happy reunion, according to his old coach: “I was at the far end of the court and I said, ‘Who was that in the door,’ and I looked and it was Terrelle. It was good to see him, and I ran up to him and gave him a hug. He must miss us a little bit.” It must have been nice for TP to ge

[edit] Pryor gets acclimated to OSU-Michigan rivalry

26 November 2008, by Posted by ESPN.com’s Adam Rittenberg Terrelle Pryor’s first experience with the game known as The Game started off shaky, as the Ohio State freshman quarterback threw an interception on his second pass attempt last Saturday. Against most Michigan teams, Pryor’s mistake would have led to a touchdown. But not this season, as the Wolverines failed to produce points.     Chris Morrison/US Presswire   Terrelle Pryor only completed five passes in his first game against Michigan, but he did t

[edit] Leaguewide position rankings for the Big Ten

26 November 2008, by Posted by ESPN.com’s Adam Rittenberg After studying the All-Big Ten selections for 2008, it’s clear the Big Ten is much stronger at some positions than others. The fact that it was hard to choose a second-team All-Big Ten quarterback tells you something about the league’s troubles under center. On the flip side, there are 10-15 defensive linemen worthy of All-Big Ten status. With the regular season wrapped up, here’s a closer look at the Big Ten positions, from strongest to weakest. Defensiv

[edit] Terrelle Pryor: The Next Heisman for Ohio State?

26 November 2008, by Terrelle Pryor was a very young player this year and needed to learn a lot. There was a lot of controversy about whether or not senior QB, Todd Boekman, should have been the starter all year. Tressel must have seen something that nobody else saw because it went form Boekman and Pryor sharing snaps to Pryor being the starter. Pryor worked himself from third-string to starter in just a matter of weeks. In his first start against Troy University, he started his legacy with four touchdown passes.

[edit] Week 13 College Football Observations

25 November 2008, by Week 13 College Football Observations Nov.25, 2008 in NCAA Football Leave a Comment It has been a while since I’ve been free on a Saturday and able to make my weekly college football observations. I’ve only had like two days off in the last 3 1/2 weeks, so needless to say, I haven’t had an overabundance of free time. This week, I tried to make some observations, but I also had to fight off the sleep from working the night before and having to work Saturday night as well. What that amounted t

[edit] Thoughts on the All-Big Ten teams

25 November 2008, by Posted by ESPN.com’s Adam Rittenberg First, let me apologize for the Shonn Greene-Daryll Clark error in the last post. I typed it up extremely fast in order to get the names to you ASAP. Greene was the one who won Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, of course. There were clearly some tough choices with the All-Big Ten teams this season, as illustrated by only three unanimous first-team selections between the media and the coaches. I’ll put out my own All-Big Ten team in the coming weeks, wh

[edit] Greene, Laurinaitis headline All-Big Ten teams

25 November 2008, by Posted by ESPN.com’s Adam Rittenberg The All-Big Ten teams have been named by the league’s coaches and media members. My analysis will come later tonight. Iowa running back Shonn Greene and Ohio State linebacker James Laurinaitis were selected as Big Ten Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year by both the coaches and the media. Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor was the consensus choice for Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Penn State’s Joe Paterno was the media’s pick for Big Ten Coach of

He was named ‘Freshman of the Year’ by both the coaches and the media. In addition to the Frosh of the Year award, TP was also voted ‘All Big Ten Honorable Mention’ by the conference media. Following the announcement, Terrelle gave the following statement: “I am surprised, but I think it’s great. I have to thank my coaches and all the guys on thi

[edit] Dave’s IMO: Year in a Nutshell

24 November 2008, by Dave Thurman (1:15 pm) What a strange year 2008 has been for the Buckeye faithful. As I look back over this past season, there are a number of things that rate as strange, shocking or absurd: 1) 10-2 with a historic, one-sided victory over Michigan still being considered disappointing due to preseason rankings and expectations. 2) True-freshman Terrelle Pryor totally unseating sixth-year senior and returning all-Big Ten quarterback Todd Boeckman…and, receiving snaps from another true fres

[edit] Grades: Michigan Gets Pounded By Ohio State For Fifth Straight Year

24 November 2008, by Ohio State 42, Michigan 7 Final Record: 3-9, 2-6 10th place in Big Ten Before I get started let me just add this little disclaimer. I was thoroughly hammered during most of the game and don’t remember much of the second half. I started pounding beers after Beanie Wells 59-yard touchdown run that looked eerily similar from the past two seasons. Guess not much has changed after all. Three straight years Wells has now made Michigan’s defense look foolish with long runs right up middle. And it

[edit] Big Ten lunchtime links: Lions don’t want Rose rematch

24 November 2008, by Posted by ESPN.com’s Adam Rittenberg There are no games on tap for a while, and most of the bowl-bound Big Ten teams are off this week. So news might be a little scarce around here. Or maybe not. Here are some interesting nuggets from around the Big Ten realm. Penn State players agree with most of you out and would rather not see a rematch against Oregon State in the Rose Bowl, Bernard Fernandez writes in the Philadelphia Daily News. “It still is remotely possible that the dominoes could f

24 November 2008, by I’ve just finished watching The Game on DVR and it’s amazing how much different it was watching The Game in person and watching it at home. Part two of this review will go into greater detail about the weekend and the surrounding hoopla, but now, here’s my full look-back at The Game itself. Prior to kickoff, I spent a lot of time looking for Sam McGuffie.  Word was that he had asked for a transfer, so I was shocked to see him in uniform.  But his warm-up ritual was quite different than the res

[edit] Michigan and the Big Ten Conference will not be down for long

24 November 2008, by    Saturday, Ohio State put a good whipping on Michigan and Rich Rodriguez; however, don’t expect this to be a trend for the future. For certain, Rich Rodriguez and the Michigan program are heading in the right direction. With their recruiting and implementation of the new spread offense underway, this Michigan program will continue to grow and get even stronger. The Big Ten, and Michigan are rebuilding its already great tradition for success. Remember, Michigan doesn’t have a problem with beat

23 November 2008, by Michigan did win the Little Brown Jug earlier this season, so they at least have something to cry into… The Seniors have had some ups and downs this season. That said, they are now the first class to play part to beat Michigan 5 consecutive times… a feat heretofore unaccomplished.  Further, they left no doubt by turning 4 unanswered touchdowns to blast Michigan en route to the 3rd biggest margin of victory for the Buckeyes in the series’ history.  The 35 point difference in the 42-7 victory

[edit] Buckeyes give Rich Rod a 42-7 pounding

23 November 2008, by    As the end of a buckeye regular season came to a close, one thing was for certain with this Buckeye squad, the seniors where not going out like Mike Hart and Chad Henne. These boys came to play, and they showed it by pounding Michigan like the chumps they are 42-7.    I caught myself continuously saying, keep throwing. I wanted the score to be more than 50-14, so Rich Rod could lose worse than any other Michigan coach in his first Ohio State-Michigan game. But, I guess I can’t complain with
