2 December 2008, by I’ve been reading a book by Nicholas Guppy about exploring the Amazon rainforest called “Wai Wai: Through the forests North of the Amazon”. He went there mid way through the 20th century and studied the plants and trees. He spent a lot of time with various indigenous people there, including the Wai Wai. There are some great photographs in it and this is a kind of amalgamation of my favourite ones, turned in to a drawing. One is of a man eating a monkey head and the other is of a woman smiling
