24 November 2008, by A brief detour: The Dallas Cowboys put on their ritz against the San Francisco 49ers earlier today 35 to 22. Click here for details. In the top half of the fourth quarter, SF quarterback Shaun Hill threw to wide receiver Dominique Zeigler for thirty yards and the camera filmed that play from behind the 49ers offense. Their backs were facing the camera–it was pretty cool. Slow-motion instant replays included views from the high-angle, press-box POV (with Zeigler screen-right) as well as from

10 November 2008, by (11-09) 20:33 PST -- With cornerback DeAngelo Hall banished and nickel back Michael Huff demoted, the Raiders trotted out a couple of guys in their secondary Sunday whom opposing receivers Steve Smith and Muhsin Muhammad might have sized up as easy .
10 November 2008, by Thank God we have a defense and can cover on punt returns! Otherwise, the Carolina Panthers would have come home with one of the most humiliating defeats in their history. Jake Delhomme looked pretty bad. Four interceptions - FOUR! He didn’t complete a pass in the third quarter. None. Did he play that badly or is Nnamdi Asomugha that good? My hope is that it’s the latter. The running game struggled all day until DeAngelo Williams took off on a 69-yard scamper in the second quarter. A

7 November 2008, by Alright, let's quickly cover last night's game.Brady Quinn looked solid. Regardless as to the win or loss, or that last drive, Quinn showed a presence in the pocket that the Browns are going to need. He was able to avoid the rush, didn't make unnecessary movements, and showed a strong arm. Starting him in his debut would have been a risk, so I'm still fine with that call. Keeper league owners, though, should get on this guy now. We'll call him a matchup play moving forward. On the Broncos side, t
25 October 2008, by Welcome to Musket Fire’s weekly breakdown of the top games. Hope you enjoy week 8’s top match-ups for the NFL. 5 - Tampa Bay (5-2) at Dallas (4-3) Talk about two teams heading in the opposite direction. The Dallas Cowboys are in reverse since losing two games in a row and star quarterback Tony Romo a few weeks back. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jeff Garcia are hoping to welcome wide receiver Joey Galloway back this week. Galloway and Antonio Bryant vs the Cowboys weak secondary should mak
12 October 2008, by Let’s call this what it was - an old fashioned butt whooping. Little, if anything, went right today for the Carolina Panthers. Fans are left with a bone to pick - why has this team now had two punts blocked and returned for touchdowns? An untouched defender came racing in, put the beat down on Jason Baker, blocked the punt easily and took it back the other way. What a way to open a game, huh? Three interceptions for Jake Delhomme continued the day of frustration. One was tipped by Dante
12 October 2008, by Jake Delhomme has throw three interceptions, and all three first were touched by Panthers pass catchers. On the first one, TE Dante Rosario dove, couldn't catch it and tipped the ball up to a Bucs defender. On the second, Delhomme threw a jump ball to Muhsin Muhammad, and though he had inside position and good timing, he couldn't come up with it, and the safety made the pick in the end zone. On the third, Delhomme fired a bullet to Steve Smith, who couldn't hang onto it, and that ball was picke
4 October 2008, by Often when a challenge is issued against an opposing force and the challengers appear to be ill-equipped or under-manned, the question is posed, “Oh yeah? You and what army?” Well, Lions secondary — meet the Bears’ army. Thanks in part to the release of Mark Bradley and injuries sustained by Brandon Lloyd and Marty Booker, — Lloyd is out for sure, Booker is a maybe — the Bears could very likely go into Sunday’s game at Detroit with only Devin Hester, Rashied Davis, and Earl Bennett at the wid
2 October 2008, by It's amazing how injuries play a part in football more than any other sport. Sure, there are issues in baseball when you try to decide who to play, but generally those decisions are easier to understand because of the disabled list process. Football becomes an exercise in mental gymnastics. You have to guess what coaches are thinking, and attempt to interpret practice notes that often make no sense at all. I mean, if you were burned by Carson Palmer last week, you aren't alone. That's sort of
1 October 2008, by Cat Crave Radio has returned with episode thirty! In this week’s show we look back at the victory over the Atlanta Falcons and we look ahead to this week’s matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. Adam Best of Arrowhead Addict joined in to discuss the game this weekend when his Chiefs visit Charlotte. Brian Miller of Phin Phanatic, stopped by to take up his role in both Boom or Bust and Pick ‘Em. Consider it another chance to hear the guy Carolina Panthers fans love to hate.
1 October 2008, by The ebb and flow of the waiver wire always leaves viable options for managers in need of bye week help, but this is a week where no players will act as saviors for your floundering playoff hopes. Three distinct concepts can summarize the quarterback, running back and wide receiver positions, as owners must ponder the good and bad in potential bye-week fill-ins. For the quarterbacks, “young vs. old” can sum up your available options. Brady Quinn, JaMarcus Russell and Joe Flacco all present some
1 October 2008, by Was 2008 the year to have the fifth pick in fantasy football? So far this season, it would seem that the later draft picks have gone unscathed while the early drafters suffered some major blows to their studs. Owners have had to make due with their depth from the middle rounds, the true test of any fantasy football champion. A handful of consensus top picks have already missed a game or been limited. LaDainian Tomlinson, slowed by his toe injury in Week 2, spooked some of his owners out of st
1 October 2008, by The “On The Radar” column isn’t one that you should necessarily run out and grab these players, although in some cases they could be valuable. These are players that have been doing something over the past week or two that warrant you keeping your eye on them for covering bye weeks or injuries, or if they put a few good weeks together. Steve Breaston, WR, Arizona Cardinals. For years, Bryant Johnson was the third receiver in the Arizona system, and was always a borderline fantasy player. Peop

30 September 2008, by Where did that Carson Palmer injury come from on Sunday morning? I lucked out played against him this week, but I didn’t hear a word about it until I saw him putting up zero points heading into halftime. Enough with the quiet injuries already. I’m still shocked there was an Ocho Cinco sighting without Palmer in the lineup. Denver Broncos lose to the Kansas City Chiefs. That was unbelievable enough, but it just sounds silly when you consider that both Eddie Royal and Brandon Marshall had big d
