Just the thing to make grass grow again. To add to the mix, a cold front blew through here last night as well, and temps plummeted from the 90’s into the low 60’s. [edit] Severe Weather Today
6 August 2008, by The majority of the severe weather today will be focused over the central Plains to the mid Mississippi Valley and over the Tennessee Valley. A series of disturbances will enhance the cold front in these locations to produce showers and thunderstorms. An MCS currently over Kansas will also enhance the frontal boundary at the surface over these locations. The mid and upper level disturbances will enhance vertical speed and directional shear, which will lead to a favorable environment for isol
[edit] Severe Weather Today

The remnants of Dolly continue to produce heavy rain throughout the southern Plains and Mid West this morning and will continue to do so through the afternoon hours. [edit] Severe Weather Today
25 July 2008, by Severe thunderstorms will concentrate along and ahead of an advancing cold front over the northern Plains, Mid West, and western Great Lakes. A strengthening disturbance moving south from Manitoba will enhance lifting ahead of the cold front, which will help destabilize the atmosphere. However, low level and mid level vertical shear will be generally weak, thus limiting the potential for a tornado from these severe thunderstorms. A strengthening low level jet stream will produce speed shear
[edit] Severe Weather Today
24 July 2008, by Unlike yesterday, the severe weather will not be as widespread. Over southern New England, a strong cold front will move through the region with showers and strong to severe thunderstorms. The 500 MB disturbance will move through southern New England producing strong lifting and vertical wind shear in a very warm, moist, and unstable atmosphere. However, at the speed the cold is moving this morning, the threat for severe weather is quickly deminishing along with any threat for a tornado.
[edit] Severe Weather Today
21 July 2008, by The severe weather today will be focused over the Mid West and Ohio Valley today where a stationary front combined with a series of mid level disturbance will support the development of strong to severe thunderstorms. A strong MCS over the Mid-West will further enhance the low level dynamics via additional lifting from out flow boundaries. The upper level disturbances will also add vertical and speed shear throughout the area which will lead to the development of isolated tornadoes, large hai

A strong trough and associated surface cold front will slowly move through these locations. While upper level winds are strong around a developing upper low over Manitoba and Ontario Canada, the upper level winds are running parallel to the surface cold front which will lead to very limited vertical shear and a very slow moving cold front.
