28 August 2008, by Sam Jordison Flat Earth theorists would say that if you are taking it on trust, you’ve been fooled. Nearly all ideas that support the Earth’s ‘globularity’ are, in fact, contrary to reason. People that say they know that the Earth is round because ...

28 August 2008, by http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/content/2008/s2348362.htm Click above to hear UK journalist and author Nick Davies lambast today’s commercial media as passive processors of PR puff, led by the nose by powerful corporate PR influences. As well as aiming a kick at flacks, hack Nick echoed points I’ve previously made in my ‘Public Relations Disasters’ book. Particularly he explained how the death of the deadline has further depleted the resources of ‘time-pressed, deadline-stressed’ journalists. ‘Chur

26 August 2008, by Eindelijk bewijsmateriaal! Hunk?! Hieronder volgt wat 'bewijsmateriaal' voor de non-believer

26 August 2008, by Not sure how new this nonsensical Stella Artois advert is, but I only saw it the other day. Anyway, it’s utter bullshit. The idea behind their campaign that a “Flat Earth was a common held belief” doesn’t actually hold up to even cursory scrutiny. People over 2,000 years ago were quite capable of climbing a hill, noticing the curvature of the Earth and postulating that the Earth was as spherical as the celestial bodies they observed at night. These folk didn’t even have the internet to do their

First, we know it’s round because, like Sherri Shepherd, we can see it from space,” Maher quips. “Secondly, to me this is child abuse. 23 August 2008, by Work was pretty soul-crushing today, so I was happy to hear back from Barry about getting together. I stopped at his place after work, and one coin flip later we were at the Muddy Pig. I've got to stop using the booths at that place: both the bar and the outside area are definitely better options. For one, they aren't right next to the men's bathroom. I started off with a Flat Earth Curly Tail Ale, a nice no-nonsense drinking beer. Originally brewed for St. Paul Saints games, if I'm rememberin

20 August 2008, by It says so right on the bottle. I was very pleased with this selection. Toasty, slightly citrus, and hoppy enough to give the sniffer a good whiff. The Planet may be Angry, but I was quite happy with it. See all Brew52 reviews filed under Week 32.
20 August 2008, by Alex is making the Autism Surfing circuit, today marked surfing #5 for him on the Jersey Shore. Today's Surf Camp was sponsored by POAC along with Sea of Change, No Flat Earth with volunteers from Christian Surfing. Over 100 kids surfed in just 3 hours - the kids got goodie bags with caps and other goodies and the autistic children all went home with a really cool T-shirt. Today's surf started out a bit rocky for us, but ended on a high note. When we got to the beach Alex got a bit nervous and

15 August 2008, by My usual day starts with some surfin' for content for another blog, but today this story begs an entry here. Can you believe there's actually a society of people who still believe the world is flat? Okay, stop laughing, because, I'm not joking. It's call The Flat Earth Society . "From the BBC article : 'Are there any genuine flat-earthers left? Surely in our era of space exploration — where satellites take photos of our blue and clearly globular planet from space, and robots send back inf

15 August 2008, by Welcome to the Flat Earth Society! http://theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php Thanks for taking the time to go through this FAQ. It was created in light of the realization that for someone with a "round-Earth" (RE) background, the FE theory would appear at first glance to have some glaring holes. Recently we have had many new members joining us and asking the same questions about these holes, so cheesejoff decided to make a FAQ. While the original version was mostly complete, it's a work-
15 August 2008, by If you have never visited Fark, I suggest you do so now. Today, while I was making my daily visit, I was reminded of something I heard several years ago: People still believe the earth is flat. Yes, it’s crazy. Read about it here. Or is it? Apparently we are being held on the earth and don’t “fall off” because of the ice surrounding the the edges of the oceans, or something. I think I can go with this theory. I would like to believe. It would completely make for amazing explorations in th
