19 October 2008, by Vinny Ciurciu.  Not Napoleon Harris or Dontarrious Thomas.  David Herron is officially out.  And so is Erin Henderson - as in out the door.  Waived.  Replaced on the roster by Rufus Alexander.  We started the season with two Henderson brothers and now we have none. I expect the Bears to be passing a lot today meaning we will be in nickel meaning Ciurciu won’t be on the field anyway. Sidney Rice is officially in for today so we’ll see if he impacts the offense.

17 October 2008, by Sidney Rice has declared himself ready to play Sunday against the Bears.  “I was close [the last few weeks] but it was coach’s decision, him deciding on what he really needed out there,” Rice said.  The receiver has missed three of four games with a sprained knee, meaning he’s had zero chance to develop rapport with Gus Frerotte.  It will be interesting to see what Gus is able to do with both Rice and Bernard Berrian on the field. 17 October 2008, by So Nappy is back, as is Dontarrious... Both, in my opinion, represent a better option at starting MLB than Herron. Obviously it looks like Harris is the favorite to fill that role but its nice to have Thomas back anyway. During his time here he was a competent backup at all three LB roles and in my opinion might have been the team's best LB at pass coverage, although this year Leber has impressed me some. Maybe Thomas could also help strengthen the Vikings coverage on special teams? They looked

16 October 2008, by Napoleon Harris will serve a second tour of duty as a Vikings linebacker after signing a contract for the rest of the season.  Harris began the year with Kansas City but was unable to crack the depth chart for whatever reason - this after a 2007 campaign which saw him lead the Chiefs in tackles.  Harris joins Dontarrious Thomas as a second former Viking brought in to fill the void left by the injuries to E.J. Henderson and Heath Farwell, both of whom have been placed on IR.  It is not yet known

31 August 2008, by The 49ers today decided to let LB Dontarrious Thomas go on waivers to make room for LB Ahmad Brooks of Cincinnati. Thomas was signed from the Vikings during this offseason, but never made a huge impact. And with the signing of Takeo Spikes, it didn’t make it any easier for him. For Brooks, he comes in as Patrick Willis’ backup. Brooks has had a history of not getting along with coaches and punched a woman earlier this year.
