[edit] Grace - Alameda Flea Market, Alameda

13 November 2008, by "Old ladies and lack of taste." Grace was genuinely puzzled that I wanted to take her photo. I like the fact that she looks a bit like she could be the subject of a Dorothea Lange pictorial, especially since we're heading toward a depression now. Dusty booties.

[edit] Mayu - Alameda Flea Market, Alameda

12 November 2008, by "My friend made this shirt, Tomoko, she has a shop (Momoca) in Berkeley. And I like fashion. I like finding cheap stuff. I found this one (beret) in Paris. It's free." I like how Mayu is wearing highly individualized clothing. She wears indie designers, yet she totes an easily recognizable logo-ed designer bag from Gucci. Notice also, how everything is in the same tone. A look at her boots peeking out from underneath her tiered skirts.

[edit] Michelle - Alameda Flea Market, Alameda

11 November 2008, by "Fall and being at the swap meet. I got this hat here and the weather." I like her cute hat and striped tunic with the front pockets. A look at her brown leather booties.

[edit] Aaron - Alameda Flea Market, Alameda

11 November 2008, by "Kind of comfortable things. And adjusting little things on stuff you buy." I understand that acid wash has its detractors. But check out his bag and the red buttons on his shirt. It also looks like someone went over the seams with white thread. I love spotting individuality shining through in how we choose to attire ourselves. Nostalgic trainers.

[edit] Libby - Alameda Flea Market, Alameda

11 November 2008, by "I like combining 90's punk and ballet class lounge wear, with a feminine hint." Libby, the powerhouse behind Libby's Niche, brings an element of motley aesthetics with her thin headband, feather earrings, mismatched length necklaces and vest. She's curating her outfit for the enjoyment of those who might bump into her. There is something different to focus on each time you see her. Nice sporty, yet fashionable black flats that turn up ever so slightly near the toes.

[edit] Andrew and Hayley - Alameda Flea Market, Alameda

10 November 2008, by Andrew: "The balmy weather inspired my mini trench and Marc outfit and Topshop." Hayley: "What inspired this outfit was I knew I was coming to a vintage market, so I thought I'd mix it up with my velvet jacket, and my different fabrics; an eclectic sort of style." These colleagues recently moved to the Bay Area to work for eLuxury, they assure me that it is just a coincidence that they are dressed in similar colors. They say good things are happening at eLuxury and I guess it's bound to with

[edit] Ian and Wendy - Alameda Flea Market, Alameda

4 November 2008, by Ian: "She helped me on it. She's more into fashion than I am." Wendy: "I ended up looking Japanese school girl I think. I read a lot of fashion blogs and I just kinda put together things that I like." Okay, I'm gonna admit this post is all about Wendy. She looks like she jumped out of a comic. I felt lucky to spot her as I was getting ready to exit the Flea Market. High fashion is usually about exaggeration of details and I think Wendy does a good job of this with her large bow and floppy hat.

[edit] Tony and Raynell - Alameda Flea Market, Alameda

3 November 2008, by Raynell: "What inspires my style is just a classic elegance. I like to be a little bit different." Tony: "What inspires my style is I guess basically 1940s-1930s type deal that I like to wear." I love how Tony has a cane and looks the part of a guy straight out of the 1930s. Raynell looks great in her violet dress and chic heels. Even Raynell's eyeglass frames are violet. A look at their stylin', but maybe not the best for walking around the Alameda Flea Market.

[edit] September Flea Market

8 September 2008, by Although it was one of the warmest Alameda Flea Market’s to date, the hunt for treasures was still just as fun. There were adorable vintage clothing and furniture, as well as housewares. One of our favorite finds were the presidential pencil sharpeners - who wouldn’t want to sharpen a pencil with Lincoln’s head!

[edit] alameda flea!

15 August 2008, by One day I was reading a magazine and I came across an article listing all the reasons why road trips across America are so awesome. While I was reading it, I was surprised to see the Alameda Antique Flea Market as one of the reasons! I thought to myself, “Hey! I know where that is!” Weeks went by and I finally got around to going. It was so amazing. There was so much to see and buy that I felt like a kid in a candy store. I didn’t end up buying anything because I decided I used this particu

[edit] Alameda Flea Market

4 August 2008, by Yesterday was pretty rad. As usual did not bring my camera though in this case I blame it on the fact that I woke up at 7 in the morning on a Sunday; one full hour before I would get up if it was a weekday. With no coffee or food or common sense in my system Julie and I got in our Zipcar(this one was in someone’s garage which was both a first and really weird) to speed to Alameda. First we had to skirt the marathon which wasn’t as bad as it could have been. I personally can not imagine runnin

[edit] Vintage Pipes

11 July 2008, by The Alameda Flea Market was back last weekend and we were so busy shopping for our new studio shop (photos to come!) that we forgot to take too many photos. One of our favorite finds this time around were all these fantastic vintage pipes - these along with some stick-on mustaches and vintage glasses would make such fun party favors!

[edit] Lindsay - Alameda Flea Market, The Alameda

10 July 2008, by "Thriftstores, flea markets and rock-n-roll." Lovely green coatdress. I remember when I watched Chung King Express and it was a plot point that the character always wore sunglasses and a trench coat because "One doesn't know when it will be sunny or when it will rain." Bay Area denizens frequently wear sunglasses and heavy coats, so it's nice to see it done in a colorfully chic way. A look at her boots.

[edit] Marc Anthony and Ronait - Alameda Flea Market, The Alameda

10 July 2008, by Marc Anthony: "She does." Ronait : "Oh the 50s, Rockabilly." I like the casually comfortable, yet stylish elements to their outfits, especially her zip sweater and espadrilles. A look at their shoes.

[edit] Alexa - Alameda Flea Market, The Alameda

7 July 2008, by "As for what inspires my style? I'd say vintage clothing and I kind of like farm sort of style." I like her layering on of different textured brown and blacks. I really like this leather headband. A look at her canvas t-strap mary jane's.

[edit] Arlene - Alameda Flea Market, SF

3 July 2008, by "Being in a hurry." I love her haircut, her large sunglasses and her small fitted blazer. I like the zippers on her jeans and how she changed the laces on her Converse.

[edit] Yuki - Alameda Flea Market, The Alameda

3 July 2008, by "I just grab whatever I want. This outfit? Like 70s or 60s style probably." I like her velvet blazer and bright blue cowboy boots. A look at those cowboy boots.
